12 Years Promise
A promise made between Fun Toast’s co-owners, Ah Hian and Ah Yang…
That year was the final year of studies at a local polytechnic which brought the two best friends, Ah Hian and Ah Yang to ‘A Promise’. A Promise to be business partners if the opportunity arise. Subsequently, both were accepted into local universities and they further reaffirmed their promise during the final year of studies. After graduation, they ventured into different career paths with various Multinational Corporations for several years. An opportunity came knocking one day, and opened a pathway. Fulfilling their Promise to each other which, took 12 years to materialize.
In the beginning of year 2009, many companies in Singapore were affected by the on-going economic crisis. The company Ah Hian was working for, was forced to shut down for a week. Facing the waves of uncertainty in their respective working environment, Ah Hian shared Kheng Nam Hong’s story with Ah Yang.
During the discussion, Ah Hian and Ah Yang exchanged their views using the “5 Wives & 1 Husband” methodology on ideas to revitalize the Coffeehouse. (5W – Who, Where, What, Why, When, 1H – How) Through this session of intense deliberation, Ah Hian and Ah Yang managed to trace and place all the various “jig-saw” pieces into a complete puzzle. This puzzle is the essence of a Coffeehouse story and their Promise, which was made 12 years ago. With this, they decided to embark on the ‘Journey’.
The vision of this journey is to bring in ideas of a ‘Fun’, ‘Innovative’ and ‘Uniquely’ Singapore Coffeehouse concept. By combining delectable traditional Nanyang food and beverages with a warm and welcoming ambience, Fun Toast aims to continuously enhance its customers’ dining experience.
